Should you choose Typeform or Google Forms?
When Typeform is the better choice
Typeform is worth paying for when the form is part of how your brand looks to customers. Choose it if you need:
- One question at a time, with a polished feel on phones
- Payments in the form (from Basic)
- Logic and calculations on every answer, not only multiple choice
- Salesforce (Business) or native apps such as Mailchimp and Calendly
The tradeoff is volume: 10 responses a month on Free and 100 on Basic, where Google Forms takes up to 500,000 per form at no cost.
When Google Forms is the better choice
Google Forms is hard to beat when price and volume matter most. Choose it if you need:
- Free forms with up to 500,000 responses each
- Quizzes with answer keys and automatic grading
- Google Sheets and the rest of Google Workspace, with Apps Script for automation
- A form everyone recognizes, for internal surveys and classes
The tradeoffs: design is limited to a theme color, background, header image, and fonts, branching works through sections, and respondents must sign in to Google to upload files.
When trulyform is worth a look
trulyform sits between them: the one-question format and design control of Typeform, with a free plan you can actually use and a low paid tier. Look at it if you want:
- One question at a time on every form, Free included
- Logic on any answer and calculations for prices and scores
- Google Sheets, Slack, HubSpot, and more on every plan
- File uploads with no sign-in for respondents
- Pro at $12/mo for 2,000 responses
What trulyform doesn’t do: payments, quizzes with answer keys, or free volume on Google’s scale. If you need those, Typeform or Google Forms is the better fit.
