Typeform vs. Jotform: which form builder fits you?

Both build forms that branch on answers, take payments, and connect to the tools you use, but they’re shaped differently. Typeform shows one question at a time and counts responses: 10 a month on Free, 100 on Basic for $39. Jotform goes for breadth, with 300+ widgets, 40+ payment gateways, PDFs, and e-signatures, and gives 1,000 submissions on Bronze for $39.

We make trulyform, a third option, so we’re not neutral. Every Typeform and Jotform figure below comes from their own pricing and help pages, checked on the date shown and linked, and each section says when one of them is the better pick.

Should you choose Typeform or Jotform?

When Typeform is the better choice

Typeform is the stronger choice for conversational forms and small teams with a budget. Choose it if you need:

  • One question at a time as the default, polished on phones
  • Seats for a team: 3 users on Plus, with roles and permissions from Plus
  • Salesforce (from Business) and native apps such as Mailchimp, Calendly, and Slack
  • Question drop-off reports (Business)

The tradeoff is volume: 10 responses a month on Free and 100 on Basic, where Jotform gives 100 and 1,000.

When Jotform is the better choice

Jotform is the stronger choice when a form is part of a bigger process. Choose it if you need:

  • Payments on every plan, through 40+ gateways
  • PDFs, e-signatures, and 300+ widgets for forms that do more than collect answers
  • HIPAA compliance with a BAA, from Gold
  • More submissions for the price: 1,000 for $39, 10,000 for $129
  • A choice of layouts: one question per card, or the whole form on one page

The tradeoffs: plans count forms, views, and storage as well as submissions, and adding team members needs Enterprise.

When trulyform is worth a look

trulyform is for small teams that want Typeform’s one-question format without per-seat plans or Typeform prices. Look at it if you want:

  • One question at a time on every form, with nothing to set up
  • Your whole team on the Free plan, with everyone able to edit every form
  • Pro at $12/mo for 2,000 responses, with unfinished responses included
  • HubSpot, Google Sheets, Slack, and more, included on every plan
  • Try first: open a template in the real editor and create an account only to publish

What trulyform doesn’t do: payments, PDFs, e-signatures, HIPAA, or custom domains (not yet). If you need any of those, choose Jotform or Typeform.
